And the top sellers in non-fiction are… fiction!

I’m increasingly of the belief that the coding behind the Kindle stores (US and UK) is seriously screwy. For instance, why are the best-sellers in the non-fiction section actually fiction titles? …

Possibly it’s because dodgy publishers decided to target categories their book doesn’t belong to. But then you’d think that Amazon would spot this on the review process, and say… “er, no”.

Then there are the frequent cover mix-ups. For example, here’s the cover of Leonard Cohen’s new book, on the page for Folk Music USA: The Changing Voice of Protest

And searches using keywords also seem to sometimes give very unexpected results.
