Some new UK figures for the UK ebook market. A new Futuresource analyst report says that in the last half of 2010…
* Amazon UK sold 400,000 Kindle devices.
* Amazon’s UK ebook sales were around £20 million.
* UK buyers purchased 50% of all ebooks in Western Europe.
In 2011 they reckon the UK will spend £100m on ebooks. Obviously this doesn’t include free ebooks or piracy.
By 2015 all European sales of ebooks could be as high as £1.4bn, and ebooks might account for 15-20% of book sales in the UK.
